Thank you for your interest in our major. Please review the academic planning information on the Undergraduate page. Then make an appointment with one of our advisors here to discuss changing your major.
There are two types of advising available to BB and BMB students. Drop-in advising and 30 min appointments. Drop-in appointments are designated for questions and meeting with an advisor for quick questions or for advising when you don’t need a pin. Pins will not be given in drop-in hours. When using drop-in hours, you will be sent to the waiting room queue and the advisor will meet with students in the order of their arrival. Please find us in our virtual office (zoom) at the designated times below.
|11:00 am - 11:50 am||9:00 am - 9:50 am||4:00 pm - 5:00 pm|
First years (students in general chemistry) are expected to meet with us every term. Second and Third years (in Ochem and biochem) will be expected to meet with us either Fall (last names A-L) or Winter (M-Z) and Spring (all students A-Z). Students in their last year are not required but are encouraged to schedule a meeting to discuss any graduation concerns and career preparation questions they may have. If you are not scheduled to advise with us this term and need to talk to us, please use the drop-in hours.
In order to meet with your advisor about the next term’s registration, you should have made/updated a plan saved in your MyDegrees planner. If you don’t know how, please see this tutorial. Your advisor may choose not to meet with you if you have not made a plan or considered your coursework prior to the meeting.
