BB students compete strongly for departmental, college, university, and national scholarship. University scholarships can be applied for when a student applies to the university. Contact Financial Aid for more information. National scholarships, such as the Goldwater scholarship, require nomination and are generally not available to incoming students.

To apply for departmental and College of Science scholarships, students must have been at OSU for at least one term, have a 3.5 or better GPA and (ideally) be working in a laboratory. Applications for these scholarships usually become available in late January each year and are announced on the bbundergrad listserv. The department awards three scholarships annually specific for BB students interested in research and medicine. These include the Hohner Scholarship, the Woodstock Scholarship, and the MacDonald Scholarship. The College of Science awards many more scholarships to students at all levels. Departmental and college scholarships are typically announced in the spring of the school year.
