Supporting biochemistry and biophysics

Gifts to the Biochemistry & Biophysics program are an important part of what enables us to have such a positive impact on our students, and we invite you to partner with us in "revealing how life works" by giving to one of our existing funds or to endow named graduate fellowships, undergraduate research scholarships, or faculty positions.

To make a contribution today to be a part of the work we are doing, please visit the OSU Foundation website. Specifying the Biochemistry & Biophysics excellence fund as the area you'd like to support gives us maximum flexibility in using the funds to impact students and strengthen our program at all levels.

Endowments

Interested individual donors or groups of donors can choose to endow a named graduate fellowship, undergraduate scholarship, or faculty position to honor a family member and make a longer-term impact.

We welcome the opportunity to work with donors to identify the gifts that can have the greatest impact on students and for research in biochemistry and biophysics.

Kevin and Indira Champions of Undergrads Fund

This fund provides support for undergraduate students in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, with priority given to supporting students who have demonstrated financial need.

Biochemistry and Biophysics Excellence Fund

This fund supports the mission to investigate life at the molecular level and empower students and the public with a molecular understanding of how life works. This has never been more important, and generous gifts and programmatic participation by alumni and friends like you are key factors that give us an emotional boost and also tangibly support the success of our students and faculty.

The Department now has two majors (BB and BMB) with a total enrollment of over 400 students, which has more than double our 2016 enrollment. Our diligent focus now, which your partnership helps us with, is to still deliver to this larger group of students the “family type” atmosphere in which they are respected, guided, cared for and supported as individuals as they receive training in the discipline and are provided life-changing hands-on learning experiences.

When giving, please select "Biochemistry and Biophysics Excellence Fund" from the drop-down menu.

Biochemistry Scholarship Fund

This fund provide scholarship support and enables students with financial needs to gain research experiences that they otherwise would not have time for if they needed to work an extra job to make ends meet. This helps level the playing field to make more accessible to all students such great educational experiences and a degree in Biochemistry and Biophysics or Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

When giving, please select "Biochemistry / Biophysics Scholarship/Fellowship Fund" from the drop down menu.
