Learning outcomes for the BMB major

  1. Articulate a core knowledge base in the theory and practice of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
  2. Demonstrate laboratory skills relevant to biochemistry and molecular biology using safe laboratory practices.
  3. Design experiments to test hypotheses relevant to the practice of Biochemistry.
  4. Effectively communicate biochemical scientific data, literature, and hypotheses using a format appropriate for the intended target audience.
  5. Apply outputs from databases, computational tools, and online resources to scientific investigations.
  6. Acquire knowledge of the ethical issues in the responsible conduct of scientific research.
